ABOUT

Taken in early afternoon from a roadside in central Iowa, just about two miles from the Des Moines River. He was perched in a tree that was right up next to a county highway. I was really suprised to see one up so close, as normally they are out on flood plain lakes where they are far enough away that they are just black bird shapes on the ice, and you can only tell they are eagles when one finally takes off and you see the flash of a white tail.
This is by far the closest I have ever been to a live one, and he let me get within 20 feet of the tree's base and take pictures. It was kind of funny, because he was sitting with his back to the wind, and his feathers kept ruffling up and he kept shaking them out of his line of sight to keep an eye on me.

SETTING

Early afternoon on a clear, cold day, with nice white light reflecting off of the snow. It was like ten degrees ferenheit out there. It was worth it, even though the image quality isn't the best. ^_^

MY BLAH BLAH ^_^

On the image quality... My good camera decided to stop waking up about six months ago, and I am working with an 'in between' camera. I miss my manual settings. *cries* I'm stuck with a Nikon Coolpix without a lens extension. I was only like 50 feet from the bird... tops, and look at that grainy zoom. *shakes head* Note to self... time to invest. lol.

COMMENT PEOPLE! I like to hear from viewers. Each person thinks differently, even a small comment can inspire and make one think. :)

I appreciate comments and critiques. I love to hear from people who enjoyed the images or wanted to say something. Makes me feel like my art or photography are worth the time spent trying to get my dial up 56kb/second connection to get them onto the site.

Thank you for your views, your comments, and your faves! Cheers! :D
